SPRING 2025 Field Trips
Join any of our Social Change field trips to meet USD's community partners and learn about social change in our community. Field trips are open to all students on campus, lunch and transportation provided.
PATH San Diego
Join a short field trip to learn how PATH Homeless Services is dedicated to helping individuals, families, and communities end homelessness. PATH San Diego helps people find permanent housing and provides services to help them maintain their homes stably.

Cafe X
Join a short field trip to visit the only cooperative coffee shop in San Diego. Cafe X was cofounded by USD alumna Khea Pollard ('18) and her mother, Cynthia Ajani, and their mission is devoted to uplifting Black people and other marginalized communities.

PANA
Join a short field trip to learn how PANA San Diego empowers refugees and displaced communities to take the lead in shaping their futures. PANA works to build long-term leadership and advocate for policies that secure meaningful freedom and opportunity for all. Come explore how their initiatives support community-led solutions and long-term stability.

Join a Trip with Outdoor Adventures
Outdoor Adventures (OA) gives the USD community opportunities to experience outdoor activities that promote personal growth, leadership development, relationship building, and environmental responsibility. With a focus on outdoor recreation, environmental education, leadership, and team building, they offer a variety of outings locally, regionally, and internationally. Many of their trips have a social change element to them. Check them out!
Day trips
OA's day trips provide an opportunity to experience the neighborhoods and outdoor spaces that make San Diego the vibrant destination that it is known to be. Day trip activities are beginner-friendly, and transportation is always provided. The trip goals are to provide an introduction to the geology, human history, wildlife, and threats impacting the places visited.
Overnight Trips
From backpacking the Pacific Crest Trail to kayaking the Colorado River, these trips are a great opportunity to connect with nature, make new friends, and learn about the challenges our current ecosystems face.
